Sign-up for a Featherstone CSA by March 1, 2016 & get free veggies!

FeatherstoneHave you ever considered signing up for a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture Share)? CSAs are a great way for the general public to buy local, seasonal produce directly from a farmer in their community through what is referred to as “farm shares”. A farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public.

One CSA, Featherstone Farm, a 140-acre certified organic farm in Rushford, MN, has been very generous to give away a $389-value, 14-week summer share to a lucky Valley Natural Foods co-op owner on February 29! Be sure to register for your chance to win at our drawing table beyond the checkouts on February 29, 2016 only.

Featherstone Farms drops off CSA boxes jam-packed full of veggies on Wednesdays starting in June to Valley Natural Foods that do include familiar produce such as asparagus, leaf lettuce, peas, beans, heirloom tomatoes, broccoli, onions, peppers, carrots, potatoes, sweet corn, cantaloupes and watermelons. They also round out their boxes with a selection of herbs throughout the season, including basil, cilantro and parsley. However, remember, each box is different week to week so enjoy the surprise of finding out what veggies you have inside! Click here to view the crops that you can commonly find in your Featherstone CSA box during the summer, fall and winter seasons.

However, even if you don’t win the lucky CSA share in our drawing, do consider signing up for one on your own and do so early! If you pay in full by March 1, 2016, Featherstone Farm will say thank you by giving you free bonus boxes of veggies throughout the season!

Featherstone Farm also has a variety of CSA options available depending upon family size, budget, time of year and length of commitment desired.  You can only sign up for one of these CSA shares through Featherstone Farm directly either on their website:  or stop by Valley Natural Foods’ demo kiosk on Monday, February 29 from noon-3:00 p.m. and you can sign-up in person!
