Staying Healthy into the Fall: Rituchaya

Ayurveda considers seasonal routine as one of the most important factors of health. Balancing the nature of the local climate with lifestyle and dietary choices that offset the potential for seasonally-induced imbalances is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your well-being. Ayurveda, an ancient and time tested holistic healing system from India, gives us a tremendous wealth of knowledge on how to transition gracefully from season to season. There is a 15 day transition period from season to season known as “Rituchaya” where emphasis is put on transitioning out of the lifestyle and diet of the previous season and into that of the upcoming season. All seasonal changes have this 15 day period, however the most important seasonal change is that of summer into fall as it is when our bodies are most vulnerable. Come learn about how to gracefully let go of the summer lifestyle and how to incorporate balancing, grounding, and immune enhancing practices to prepare the mind and body for the approaching cooler weather.
