Candied Nuts With Applewood Smoked Sea Salt

As seen in Living Naturally Holiday Entertaining 2016, this recipe is perfect blend of smoky and sweet for your next holiday gathering. Serve as an appetizer snack, or package in decorative tins and jars and give away as gifts.

  • 1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  • 2. In a large bowl combine the maple syrup, 3/4 teaspoon of smoked salt and the ground pepper.
  • 3. Add the almonds, cashews, pecans, macadamia nuts and pistachios to the maple syrup mixture, stirring well to coat.
  • 4. Spread the nuts onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roast for 5 minutes.
  • 5. Remove from oven, stir nuts and roast for 5 more minutes.
  • 6. Remove from oven, stir nuts and roast for an additional 5 minutes.
  • 7. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining smoked sea salt. Use as much or as little as desired.
  • 8. Let nuts cool on the baking sheet or transfer to a glass bowl to cool faster.
  • 9. Once cooled, break apart any nuts that are stuck together and stir in the dried fruit.
  • 10. Serve or store in air tight jars or tins.
