Farfalle with Chicken Sausage & Mustard Greens

Warm, creamy pasta dishes with sausage can be a favorite for fall in many homes. The sausage, pasta and cream sauce in this dish compliment the addition of the spicy mustard greens. Like any pasta dish, swapping out ingredients and adding what your family likes creates a whole new recipe.

  • 1. In a large skillet cook sausage over medium high heat for 10 to 12 minutes or until browned, drain and set aside in a bowl.
  • 2. Add the oil, red chili flakes, garlic, sliced onion and mustard greens to the skillet over medium high heat, sauté for 6-8 minutes.
  • 3. Place greens and onions in the bowl with the sausage then add the chicken broth, heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper and nutmeg into the hot skillet.
  • 4. Bring to a boil over medium high heat, whisking constantly, then reduce heat and simmer for 6 to 8 minutes.
  • 5. Add the sausage, greens and cooked pasta into the skillet, toss to coat and sprinkle with breadcrumbs right before serving.
