Fried Apple and Chicken Grilled Cheese

A fresh twist on a comforting classic. The combination of apples, cheese and chicken make for a sweet, yet savory sandwich. Mix it up with your favorite apple and cheese pairings or enjoy as is.

  • 1. In a large skillet, melt 2 Tbsp. butter over medium-high heat.
  • 2. Add sliced apples and saute for 6-8 minutes, or until apples begin to caramelize.
  • 3. Drizzle with maple syrup, and sprinkle with cinnamon; simmer for another 3-5 minutes.
  • 4. Remove pan from heat and set aside to cool.
  • 5. Meanwhile, butter one side of each slice of bread.
  • 6. Place bread butter side down into a skillet or panini press.
  • 7. Layer with a slice of cheese, apples, sliced chicken, and a second slice of cheese.
  • 8. Place the other slice of bread butter side up on the sandwich and cook 4-6 minutes on each side, or until cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
  • 9. Repeat until all grilled sandwiches are complete.
