Hearty 9-Layer Hot Dish

Instructions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2. Melt butter over medium heat in a large saucepan.
  • 3. Add the onions and mushrooms and saute over medium heat for 8-10 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • 4. Whisk in the flour and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • 5. Next, stir in the milk, sour cream, Swiss cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper and cook over medium heat for an additional 4-6 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • 6. Pour ½ cup of the sauce in the bottom of a greased 9x13 glass baking dish and spread across the bottom of the dish.
  • 7. Place a layer of potatoes, green beans and ground buffalo on top of the sauce.
  • 8. Pour half of the remaining sauce over the ground buffalo and spread to the edges.
  • 9. Repeat the layers of potatoes, green beans and ground buffalo.
  • 10. Pour the remaining sauce over the meat and spread to the edges.
  • 11. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour or until potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
