Korean Beef and Pear Slaw

This dish provides you with those delicious flavors from your favorite take out restaurant from the comfort of your own home. All you have to do is pick up your favorite fortune cookies for dessert.

TO BROIL: Place steak on a boil pan and place 6-7 inches under the heating coil. Broil for 5-6 minutes a side for medium rare and 9 minutes a side for medium.

TO PAN FRY: Heat 2 tablespoons oil over medium high heat and cook steak for 5 minutes each side for medium rare or 7-8 minutes on each side for medium. Serve with rice. 

PEAR SLAW: In a bowl mix together 1 tablespoon honey, 1/4 cup brown rice vinegar, 2 tablespoons sesame oil and soy sauce. Add the diced red pepper, sliced green onion, diced pears, and shredded cabbage. Toss to coat. Serve with Korean Beef.

  • 1. Place the steak in a gallon size plastic re-sealable bag.
  • 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the ginger, 2 tablespoons honey, oyster sauce, 1/4 cup brown rice vinegar, chili paste, minced garlic and 2 tablespoons sesame oil.
  • 3. Pour sauce over meat, squeeze all the air out of the bag and seal shut.
  • 4. Place in refrigerator for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
