Peanut Butter Grilled Cheese

Growing up in the 1980’s a common snack cracker put into lunches was a cheese cracker filled with peanut butter. Well this sandwich takes that combination and builds on it with the sweet & spicy cinnamon bread. This sandwich is for one of those days when you want to try something different with your peanut butter instead of jelly or a chocolate hazelnut spread.

Instructions

  • 1. Spread some softened butter on one side of the cinnamon raisin bread and place butter side down in a skillet.
  • 2. Lay a slice of Gouda cheese to cover the face of the bread in the skillet.
  • 3. Then spread some nut butter over the cheese with the back of a spoon and top with another slice of cheese to cover the nut butter.
  • 4. Spread some softened butter on the second slice of cinnamon raisin bread and place butter side up on the sandwich, cook sandwich over medium heat for 3-5 minutes each side or until cheese is melted and sandwich is golden brown.
  • 5. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
