Spiced Sweet Potato Mash

Sweet potatoes whipped with heavy cream, cinnamon, chili powder and a dash of nutmeg will make a great addition to your Thanksgiving meal.

Optional: Make these Candied Nuts with Applewood Smoked Sea Salt using only pecans for the nut portion of the recipe.

  • 1. Preheat oven 400 degrees.
  • 2. Rinse potatoes and pat dry.
  • 3. Pierce potatoes 4-6 times with a fork and place on a baking sheet, or on the middle rack of the oven.
  • 4. Bake potatoes 45 -60 minutes, or until tender.
  • 5. Remove potatoes from oven and let cool just until warm.
  • 6. Remove the potato skins and place into a large bowl.
  • 7. Add the cream, cinnamon, chili powder and nutmeg to the bowl.
  • 8. Using a hand held mixer or an immersion hand blender and beat until smooth and creamy.
  • 9. Warm up if necessary and serve warm.
