Turkey with Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce

During the holidays using leftover turkey can be overwhelming when it comes to finding new recipes to use it in. This recipe allows you to use that leftover turkey in a new and flavorful way. The lemon garlic cream sauce, artichokes, bacon and bits of tomato make a dish you’ll use time and time again, even if you don’t have leftover turkey.

  • 1. Melt butter in a large sauté pan; add garlic and sauté for 3-4 minutes over low heat.
  • 2. Add the flour, stir and let cook for 2 minutes.
  • 3. Whisk in the chicken broth, lemon juice, salt, pepper and dried tomato flakes; simmer on medium for 5-7 minutes.
  • 4. Add the crumbled bacon, artichoke hearts, turkey and heavy cream.
  • 5. Simmer on medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes.
  • 6. Remove pan from heat, stir in the fresh basil chiffonade and serve over mashed potatoes.
  • 7. NOTE: Cooked Fusilli pasta can be substituted for mashed potatoes.
